In New Zealand’s Maori language, Ka-pai (car-pie) means GOOD! The word for food is remarkably similar. It is fondly known as…..Kai! You may ask, what is it that makes New Zealand’s Kai so damn Ka-pai? Well, it’s because we make our food the way God made our country.

It’s like our rugby mates – big and hearty
And a farmers favourite sheep dog – bright, strong and proud
It’s our beautiful mountains, rivers and lakes – so fresh and pure
And the vast southern oceans – shimmering, pristine and cool
Sheep, cattle and deer – grown on pastures of green abundance
And sun-baked grapes – spark, delight and quench
And finally, it’s like Mum’s cooking – 100% homemade!!

We’ve taken this combination of New Zealand-ness and thrown into our countries cultural melting pot of international cuisine to create Kai that is uniquely Modern Kiwi Cuisine.

From the lush green pastures, pristine blue waters and acclaimed vineyards which have made New Zealand famous, Kai delivers the essence of ‘Modern Kiwi Cuisine’ in a unique dining setting located on Sathorn Soi 12. Combining the best from home, land and sea and with an emphasis on using the best, imported New Zealand ingredients and the freshest local produce, the focus at Kai is on quality homemade fare.

Kai’s personally imported ingredients include seafoods, beef, lamb and venison. These items are available only at Kai therefore making us the leaders of uniquely New Zealand cuisine in Thailand. Additionally all of the local ingredients that Kai uses are sourced from ethically minded producers using as much free range, organic and sustainable farming methods as possible.

A strong emphasis is found on homemade products such as breads, ice-creams, sauces, relishes, pies, pizzas, biscuits and other items all made in-house. Kai’s menu has strong New Zealand origins that are reminiscent of memories and recipes of the owners, families and friends who are all true Kiwis.

Kai’s menu includes dishes found on many modern New Zealand restaurant’s menus including hearty breakfasts, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, main dishes and desserts. Cuisine Kiwiana (as we like to call it) reinterpreted through Pacific Rim cooking knowledge. A popular cooking style now found even in the most rural regions of New Zealand.

Of course New Zealand is not only noted for it’s food. Kai also carries the most extensive range of New Zealand beverages in Thailand. Including world class wines, specialty craft beers & ciders, 42 below Vodka and other specialty drinks only available at Kai NZ.
